CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WRCB-TV) - Our victim in this week's case is 71-years old. He was out collecting rent payments on February 29th when he thought he was being followed. The car, a PT Cruiser, passed and he pulled into an abandoned gas station. "He was sitting there, doing paperwork," said CPD Detective Tim Tomisek. "PT CRUISER comes in and two suspects run up on him, pull him out of the car, take his money, cell phone, and car keys."
Next stop for the bad guys...or gals, perhaps, in this case, was a nearby convenience store. Surveillance video shows their vehicle at the gas pump. We get a great look at one of the crooks as she enters the store and approaches the counter. She has a definite 'look.' "She's just a thin, black female," Det. Tomisek described, "Fairly masculine looking, had her pants kinda low; obviously her clothing a little lower."
She used the victim's cash and credit cards. For what? "Normally, it's cigarettes and gasoline and beer," Tomisek explained. "It's not baby diapers and formula."
Do you know this woman or with whom she may be working? Our victim may be kicking himself, but he is fine. He would like to see justice served in this case, as well. Help us get her and her accomplice off the street before they can strike again. There is up to a thousand dollars waiting for the right information. Call Crime Stoppers at: 698-3333. A police officer may answer the phone, but you never have to identify yourself.
In the meantime, a message from Det. Tomisek. "Don't put yourself in harm's way, if you don't have to," he said.
