FORT PAYNE, AL (WRCB) -- Late Thursday night, DeKalb County Sheriff's Office deputies and Drug Task Force members arrested Jeremy Ladon Nelson, 34, of Fort Payne, after finding methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a methamphetamine lab at his residence on County Road 127 in the Lickskillet area of Fort Payne.

Sheriff Jimmy Harris said officers went to the residence after having received numerous tips given both to the Sheriff's Office and the Task Force Office regarding drug activity taking place there.

Nelson was charged with Unlawful Manufacturing of Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

He remains in jail at this time awaiting setting of a bond.

"This was another drug arrest that was a result of citizen-provided information," Sheriff Harris said. "It worked exactly the way it should when it's done right.  We encourage everyone to continue providing information regarding drug or other suspicious activity in your communities.  We assure you that we will follow up on any information that we receive."
