(WRCB) - Chattanooga Police say a man was shot three times, including once in the head, Thursday morning.

Officers say they were called to 2012 Duncan around 9:40 a.m. on a report of a man with shot three times.

Investigators say 38-year-old Demetris Griffin had been in a verbal fight with the suspect, 31-year-old Marcus Sanders, near the intersection of S. Kelly Street and Union Avenue.

They say the victim was shot there and drove himself to Duncan Avenue before calling 911.

The victim was transported to Erlanger Hospital where is listed in critical to stable condition.

Police found Sanders at the Union Avenue scene and placed him police custody.

Officers tell Channel 3 charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
