Former Lafayette police officer to ask for new trial

Posted: Updated:

LAFAYETTE, WALKER CO., (WRCB) - Sam Parker will argue for a new trial.

He's the former Lafayette police officer convicted of murdering his wife Theresa, in 2009.

It wasn't until a year after his conviction her remains were found in Chattooga County, Georgia.

Parker was brought to the Catoosa County Jail earlier this month and will appear in Walker County Court today.

His attorney will argue the medical examiner never could determine how Theresa Parker was murdered.
