On May 1st the water level is full pool - 829FT. Surface temps. are hanging around 64-67F, very well below what is normal for May.
The spotted and largemouth bass are mostly spawned out now. Post spawn fishing is getting underway. Fishing deep main lake and secondary points with plastics rigged on shakeyheads, texas rigs, and dropshots is producing a lot of nice 2 - 2.5 lb. spotted bass with an occasional kicker fish right now. The fish are mostly in the 5-15FT range. They should move out deeper sometime within the next month.
