City council votes to upgrade traffic cameras
CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- New technology will soon make it easier for traffic cameras to spot speeders.
City council members voted to hire Sensys America to upgrade Chattanooga's camera system.
Sensys will install cameras that use Doppler Radar technology to track up to 20 vehicles at the same time.
The fixed cameras can be easily relocated, and city officials plan to move them when citation rates decline.
The cameras aren't the only tool being used. Speed enforcement vans will still be on the roads.
