Threat delays East Lake Academy opening

Posted: Updated:

(WRCB) -- Just before 6:30 a.m. Monday morning, Chattanooga Police responded to East Lake Academy on E. 34th Street on a report of a bomb threat.

The Chattanooga Police EOD unit searched the school using a bomb dog and found no explosive materials. The school was cleared and has reopened.

School officials say classes were been delayed because of the incident, with the school opening late at 10:00 a.m. once the building was cleared.

If parents have any questions, they are invited to call the Chattanooga Police Department at (423) 698-2525.
