Patient info stolen from Rome doctor's office

ROME, Ga. (AP) - Police in the northwest Georgia city of Rome are searching for suspects after a laptop with information about patients was stolen from a physician's office.

The Rome News-Tribune reports ( that someone broke into the office on Redmond Road sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. Friday. Investigators believe the suspect kicked in the front door of the office to get inside.

Police said filing cabinets had been gone through and that keys were also taken.
