HAMILTON COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -- Tri-Community Volunteer firefighters responded to a house fire the night before Easter which destroyed three-quarters of the vacant home, causing an estimated $50,000 in damages.

A 911 call was made around 7:45 p.m. reporting a house fire at 9713 Standifer Gap Road. Fire crews arrived on the scene within minutes reporting flames through the roof.

Once firefighters confirmed that no one was in the house, they conducted a defensive attack to extinguish the house.

Tri-Community VFD Battalion Chief Jerry Vanberos says the cause of the fire is still undetermined and will be under investigation by the Tri-Community Fire Marshall's Office.

The house had damages to at least 75 percent of the structure, with an estimated $50,000 loss.

The owner of the vacant home, Dale Lowry, lives across the street.
