CHATTANOOGA -

(WRCB) -  The City Parks and Recreation department is postponing Thursday's Easter egg hunt.

Citing the potential for severe weather, the egg hunt was moved to next Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

25,000 candy-filled Easter eggs will be up for grabs to hundreds of young boys and girls along with plenty of activities for all age groups.

This year, selected age groups will take the field searching and enjoying eggs starting at 4 and under, 5-6 years old, 7-8 years old, 9-10 years old and 11-12 years old.

Before the hunt begins, children and their families can enjoy giveaways, music, concessions, games, football challenge, arts and crafts, moon walk, face painting and more. This year will also feature an Easter Costume Contest with prizes given in age groups!

The City of Chattanooga's Prevention and Youth Development Department will provide a stage and music for participants to enjoy.
