Easter services and egg hunts this weekend

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Easter is almost here and you may be looking for an Easter service or egg hunt for the children to attend.

The Salvation Army Corps and Community Centers of the East Lake Community and Brainerd Community hosts it annual Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday, April 7 from 11 a.m. to Noon at the Salvation Army's East Lake Location on 2140 E. 28th Street and at the Salvation Army's Brainerd Location on 1019 North Moore Road.

The Salvation Army will also hold its annual sunrise service on Sunday at the National Cemetery. All are invited to worship at 7:18 a.m.

There will also be Easter in the Park, at Camp Jordan. Hamilton Life Church will hold an Easter service at 10:30 a.m., an Easter egg hunt will follow.

At Coolidge Park, Stuart Heights Baptist will hold its annual Easter celebration. The Easter egg hunt is at 9:00 a.m., followed by a worship service at 10:00 a.m.

And due to inclement weather, the City Parks and Recreation department has postponed their annual  Easter egg hunt to Thursday, April 12 at 6:00 p.m.

25,000 candy-filled Easter eggs will be up for grabs to hundreds of young boys and girls along with plenty of activities for all age groups. This year, selected age groups will take the field searching and enjoying eggs starting at 4 and under, 5-6 years old, 7-8 years old, 9-10 years old and 11-12 years old.
