UPDATE 2: Second rescue successful at Blue Hole

Posted: Updated:

SODDY DAISY, HAMILTON COUNTY, TN. (WRCB) -- Rescue crews have successfully brought an injured teen to safety from Pocket Wilderness for a second time in 24 hours.

Hamilton County EMS Spokeswoman Amy Maxwell says an 18-year-old male possibly fractured his foot when it hit a rock, following a high fall from a rope swing.

Maxwell says first responders carried the man out in a stokes basket on foot.

The rough terrain and the man's weight, Maxwell says, made the rescue difficult.

Thirty-five volunteers from Mowbray Mountain Volunteer Fire Department, Sequoyah Volunteer Fire Department , State Parks and Chattanooga-Hamilton County Cave and Cliff team assisted with the 4 1/2 hour removal.

The man was taken to Erlanger for minor injuries.
