UPDATE 2 : Hwy 64 in Polk County reopens after tractor trailer crash

Posted: Updated:

DUCKTOWN, POLK COUNTY, TN. (WRCB) -- The westbound lane of Highway 64 in Ducktown has reopened, following a tractor-trailer crash.

A Tennessee Highway Patrol dispatcher says the wreck happened shortly before 2:30 p.m.

The dispatcher says part of the semi left the road and went down an embankment, spilling diesel fuel on the surrounding area.

Firefighters used sandbags to clean up the spill.

The THP says the eastbound lane was closed for a truck, crews are using, to load steel that was scattered in the crash.
