14-year-old assaulted during East Ridge home invasion

EAST RIDGE, TN. (WRCB) – East Ridge police are looking for a burglary suspect, who allegedly pulled a knife on a teenager Tuesday.

The incident happened in the 6100 block of Schofield Avenue, shortly after 5:30 p.m.

Police Spokesman Erik Hopkins tells Channel 3 the 14-year-old victim was attacked by the suspect when he answered his door.

Hopkins says the suspect hit the boy and forced him onto the ground, before pulling a knife.

After a fight between the two, the suspect fled, leaving the boy with a cut on his knee.

The victim told police the man was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.
