CHARLESTON, TN. (Times Free Press) -- Amazon has added about 100 more full-time jobs to its Bradley County distribution center as it expands the operation, officials said today.

Michael Thomas, general manager of the 1.2 million-square-foot facility, said the company moved 100 of its temporary workforce to full-time slots.

He said the center, which handles larger items than the company's Hamilton County facility, now employs about 450 full-timers. That's about 200 more than the company said it would hire when the distribution center was originally announced in late 2010.

Thomas said the aim of bolstering its workforce was to meet growing demand for the goods at the center.
