North Carolina has a new approach to cleaning up meth labs

Posted: Updated:

(WRCB) - North Carolina has a new approach to cleaning up meth labs.

Containers will be placed throughout the state.

Once a lab is dismantled, state and local police will transfer the hazardous chemicals to one of these containers, for safe storage.

The bins will be emptied once a week by drug agents.

Until now, local agencies had to assume responsibility for expensive clean up and disposal costs.
