Peyton Watch: Chattanooga company gets involved in Manning Mania
(WRCB) - Another Tennessee-based company is hoping the way to Peyton Manning's heart is through his stomach.
Chattanooga-based MoonPie has offered the four-time NFL MVP a lifetime supply of the tasty treat if he signs with the Tennessee Titans.
"Reach for the Moon, Peyton!" the company said in the offer posted on its Facebook Page Monday.
Last week, the Nashville-based Shoney's offered Manning free pancakes for the duration of his career as a Titan.
On Saturday, Franklin-based Nissan North American offered to build Manning a custom-made Nissan Titan pickup truck if he were to sign with the Nashville team.
Manning was released from his contract with the Indianapolis Colts on March 7, setting into motion a free-agent scramble the likes of which the NFL has never seen.
Three teams are considered to still be potential fits for the superstar quarterback: The Denver Broncos; the Tennessee Titans; San Francisco 49ers.
The Broncos top brass flew out to North Carolina last week to watch Manning workout on the campus of Duke University.
The Titans got a workout in with Peyton at his alma mater, the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
The only NFC team involved in Manning Mania, the 49ers, have been playing their cards close to the vest. In fact, nobody even realized the team had met with Manning until nearly a week after the fact.
