Update: Victims of Murray County Deadly Crash Identified

Posted: Updated:

MURRAY COUNTY, GA (WRCB) -- Two people are dead after a crash in Murray County. It happened just after 4pm Saturday afternoon on Highway 282 at Woodring Branch Road.

The Georgia Highway Patrol tells us Myrtle Thomas of Chatsworth was traveling westbound on Hwy. 282, when she crossed the center line and hit another car head-on. She died at the scene.

On impact, the second vehicle left the road and rolled down a 50-foot embankment, flipping several times.

Three people were inside. Troopers say Hazel Hogan wasn't wearing her seat belt. She was thrown from the car. She, the driver of the car, Tracy Hogan, and another passenger, Boyd Hogan, all of Chatsworth, were taken to the hospital. The Highway Patrol says Boyd Hogan did not survive his injuries. Tracy and Hazel are both in critical condition.

State troopers say they're not sure what caused Thomas to cross the center line.
