Arson investigators looking into East Ridge house fire

EAST RIDGE, TN (WRCB) -- On Sunday at approximately 2:40 p.m., the East Ridge Fire Department and Police responded to 3432 Bennett Rd. in reference to a residential structure fire.

Firefighters arrived on the scene in three minutes to find smoke coming from the crawl space of the home. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire limiting its exposure to the crawl space and floor joists.

This fire is being classified as suspicious because the home is vacant and the location where the fire appears to have started. East Ridge Fire/Arson Investigators also responded to the scene.

No injuries were reported and damage is estimated at $10,000.
