Clouds give way to rain as front approaches

Posted: Updated:

(WRCB) - We will see some clouds and breezy weather today, but overall it will feel nice with highs in the mid-to-upper-60s.

Ahead of an approaching front we can expect light isolated showers this afternoon.

Later this evening (7-8pm), we can expect the front to begin moving through, and, as it does, bring some periods of heavy rainfall and maybe a few thunderstorms also.  I am not expecting any severe storms, but will be watching the radar and updated models closely for any change to that forecast.

Late tonight it will transition into light rain showers that will last on and off through early tomorrow morning.

You will probably still be seeing light showers as you are getting the kids off to school Friday morning, but by the time you reach work at 9am, the rain will have drifted off to the south as the front passes through.

Behind the front, we can expect cool and breezy weather for Friday afternoon with highs near 60, and winds from the north at 10-15 mph.
