Murder case dismissed against Ringgold man accused of killing baby

Posted: Updated:

RINGGOLD, GA. (Times Free Press) -- A murder case against a Ringgold, Ga., man accused of killing a baby 19 years ago was dismissed earlier today.

Prosecutors said the evidence is unreliable.

In 2007, Dale Higgenbottem was charged with murder for the death of an infant who died of head injuries in December 1992. Higgenbottem was 15 at the time of Christopher Breazeale's death and had spent the night at the baby's house.

At the time, Christopher's death was ruled an accident, but 15 years later, prosecutors said they had enough evidence to charge Higgenbottem.
