DALTON, WHITFIELD COUNTY (Times Free Press) -- A Murray County sheriff's deputy was arrested Friday night and
charged with driving under the influence and for having an open
container in the car, reports show.
A Dalton officer pulled Deputy Stephanie Ensley over at 11:45 p.m. as
she was weaving back and forth on the North Bypass and driving without
her headlights on, a Dalton police incident report shows.
The smell of alcohol was coming from the vehicle and Ensley told the
officer she had been drinking in Chattanooga with her friend, the
passenger in the car, the report shows. She told the officer she was a
deputy and there was a gun in the glove box of her car, the report
states.
The gun was taken as evidence.
