Chilly start to the week

Posted: Updated:

(WRCB) - Grab the jacket as you head out today.

We start the week with cool and breezy weather.  Winds will blow from the northwest at 10-20 mph with wind gusts to 30 mph.  It will be a chilly flow of air with temperatures in the 40s and low-50s all day.

Tonight, temperatures will drop into the mid to upper 20s, and that could threaten some of the new growth on some tender vegetation.

Warmer weather will move in Tuesday afternoon with highs in the low 60s under sunny skies.

We will continue to climb, reaching the 70s by Thursday with a slight chance of rain Thursday night.

A front will move through on Friday and give us a good shot at seeing more thunderstorms.

Right now the timing looks like the late morning and afternoon hours of Friday.  Some of the storms Friday could be strong as we will be experiencing highs in the 70s by then.

I would expect rain (with a few non severe storms) to last on and off through the weekend.
