EAST RIDGE, TN (Times Free Press) -- A tractor trailer split apart after crashing into the Ringgold Road bridge over I-75, East Ridge Police said Thursday morning.

The crash resulted from a collision seconds earlier between the tractor trailer and a Toyota Camry traveling south on the interstate around 10 a.m, police spokesman Erik Hopkins said.

The driver of the Camry lost control of the vehicle, which began to spin and struck the tractor trailer head-on, Hopkins said.

The driver of the Camry was transported to Erlanger Medical Center by Lifeguard EMS his condition is unknown, said Hopkins.
