DALTON, GA (WRCB) -- The Georgia Cup Dalton Grand Prix will return to Dalton for a 3rd year. The event will feature three races. A time trial and circuit race will be held on Saturday, March 10 and a road race will be held on Sunday, March 11.

The event is expected to attract competitors from around the region. It will be hosted by Spincycle, a turn-key operations management company specializing in Running and Cycling events.

"The event is expected to bring in 250 riders and $50,000 in economic impact," said Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Brett Huske. "The Georgia Cup promotes itself as the very best in competitive cycling. They've chosen Dalton due to our great roads and location."

Unlike the previous two years of the Georgia Cup, 2012 will not have a criterium race. Instead, it will be replaced with the circuit race, which will run around Dalton High School. The hills around the high school are intended to add a challenge to riders.
