ATHENS, MCMINN COUNTY (WRCB/WBIR) -- A tractor-trailer crash in Athens caused quite a mess Friday.

Athens Police say the driver of the truck ran off the edge of the road, overturned and spilled about 6000 gallons of milk.

The fire chief says the milk en route to Mayfield Dairy for processing.

The driver was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, which are unknown.

Fire crews have set up booms, so the milk sinks into the ground and away from a rushing creek nearby.
