(AP) - A Chattanooga-based health firm has announced plans to cut staff at a hospital in north Georgia.
Erlanger at Hutcheson CEO Roger Forgey tells the Chattanooga Times Free Press (http://bit.ly/zQwGz4) the cuts would be "less than 5%" of the 825 employees at the hospital, which is in Fort Oglethorpe.
Forgey said he didn't have an exact number of cuts, but said they would take place during the next 60 days.
Officials say Erlanger at Hutcheson, which has been managed by Erlanger Health System since May, has lost millions of dollars during the last year, defaulted on a $35 million bond and laid off 75 employees in April.
Forgey says the latest cuts are a result of the hospital trying to move to a size that the community can support.
