GREENVILLE, S.C. (WRCB) – Twenty-four organizations from around the Chattanooga area today received more than $34,000 raised through Bi-Lo Charities' boostersplus program.
For participating members of boostersplus, Bi-Lo donated one percent of their grocery purchases to the charity of their choice by connecting customers' Bi-Lo bonus cards to the boostersplus program.
At a check presentation event held Wednesday at the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Bicentennial Library downtown branch, the following organizations received funding from the boostersplus program:
- Gilbert Elementary School ($1,347.84),
- Soddy Daisy Food Bank ($1,500),
- Soddy Daisy High School Basketball Cheerleaders ($1,500),
- Soddy Daisy High School Football Cheerleaders ($1,500),
- The Care Mission ($1,500),
- Flat Rock Community Center ($1,500),
- Tri-State Food Pantry ($1,500),
- Trenton United Methodist Church ($1,500),
- Friends of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Library ($1,500),
- Red Bank High School JROTC ($1,500),
- Chattanooga Community Kitchen ($1,212.93),
- Brown Middle School ($1,500),
- Loftis Middle School Cheerleaders ($1,500),
- Hixson Middle School Cheerleaders ($1,500),
- Hixson High School Cheerleaders ($1,500),
- Bethel Bible Village ($1,500),
- Hixson High School ($1,500),
- Habitat for Humanity of Town and Union Counties ($1,500),
- Union General Hospital Auxiliary ($1,021.50),
- Ooltewah High School Band Boosters ($1.500),
- Missing Children's Foundation ($1,500),
- Etowah Area Senior Citizens Center ($1,500),
- Polk County High School Science Club ($1,043.17),
- Boyd Buchanan School ($1,500).
"The boostersplus program is one way Bi-Lo partners with our customers to support schools and charitable organizations in the Chattanooga area," said Bi-Lo Charities Executive Director Carol Browning. "Our customers tell us which local organizations they want to support and Bi-Lo provides funding based on a percent of our customer's purchases.
