(WRCB) - The next 48 hours will be interesting. There is a slight risk of isolated severe storms in the Tennessee Valley during the late morning and early afternoon hours as an upper low moves through tapping into some very warm, unstable air.
The biggest threat from any storms that develop today will be from hail and damaging straight line winds which can exceed 80 mph. The Storm Prediction Center puts the risk of tornadoes at only 5% today.
Thursday will be another ridiculously warm day with highs in the 70s. All of that warmth will help create another round of showers and potentially strong storms Thursday night into the overnight hours of Friday morning.
The Channel 3 Storm Alert Team will continue to monitor this developing weather event.
