Argument between father and son leaves one dead

GORDON COUNTY (WRCB) --  The Gordon County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting Monday afternoon that left a father dead and his son facing charges.

The incident happened around 1:00 p.m. at a home on Rhinehart Drive.

Sheriff Mitch Ralston tells Channel 3, deputies found 62-year-old Steve Rhinehart shot to death when they arrived.

Investigators believe an argument between the victim and his son, 35-year-old Matthew Rhinehart, led to the shooting.

Ralston says Matthew Rhinehart was arrested at the scene, and says the GBI plans to charge him with murder.

The victim's body was sent to the state crime lab for autopsy.
