CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - The Chattanooga Community Kitchen is celebrating 30 years of feeding the hungry.

It was founded by seven downtown churches.

One of which, Christ Church, decided to celebrate the anniversary by serving sack lunches what the kitchen served when it first began.

The Community Kitchen usually serves hot meals, but because of work on the floor, they were unable to do that.

Leaders say it's neat to remember where it all began and how far the community kitchen has come.

They expressed their appreciation to the community for support helping those in need.
