FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WRCB) -- Two weeks after battling for the TSSAA Division I state duals championship, Soddy-Daisy and Cleveland are at it again.

The two Chattanooga area rivals pulled away from the pack to claim the top two spots in the team standings following day one of the TSSAA Division I Traditional Wrestling Tournament at the Williamson County Agricultural Expo Arena on Thursday.

Cleveland had a perfect opening round with all 12 wrestlers winning their first match. Eleven of Soddy-Daisy's 13 grapplers advanced through round one.

Both programs advanced eight wrestlers through the second round and into Friday morning's quarterfinals, but the Trojans piled up more bonus points for a one-point lead over the Blue Raiders with 75.5 team points.

Science Hill stands third with 50 points, while Bradley Central tied Pigeon Forge for fourth with 49. The Bears advanced five quarterfinalists.

Notre Dame stands 13th in the overall team standings with four grapplers in the quarterfinals. Reigning A/AA duals champ Central joins rival Hixson and Tyner with two wrestlers still alive in the championship bracket.

Walker Valley, Sale Creek, Silverdale Academy and Ooltewah each have one quarterfinalist.

Tyner's DeAngelo James, one of just three undefeated wrestlers left in the state of Tennessee, kept his quest for a perfect season alive with a pair of day-one pins.

The 113-pound senior, who has yet to medal at a state tourney, is now a perfect 40-0 this season heading into Friday's quarterfinal matchup with Germantown's returning medalist Sidney Blackman.

James' brother, Tony Walton, is also through to the quarterfinal round at 145 pounds. Walton beat Pigeon Forge's Nate Crowley by a 5-2 decision, then followed with a 7-3 win over MLK's Ronguai Love in round two. He'll face Cookeville's Dalton Satterfield in the quarterfinals.

Baylor and McCallie will open action in the Division II state tournament on Friday.
