Promising future draws prospective employees to Wacker Institute

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Wacker is putting people to work and dozens are wanting to get on the polysilicon train.  But most are people who aren't strangers to the workforce.

The reasons behind these career changes are endless. Most tell Channel 3, it's not just about the promise of higher education, but more about Wacker's support of its employees.

Brian Passolt decided to check out the Wacker Institute, on Chattanooga State's campus Thursday night.

Passolt, who currently installs countertops, decided at the age of 27 it was time for a change.

He loves science. And despite the economy, Passolt says his decision to seek a new path in life made perfect sense.

"As I got older I just started thinking about the future and career choice," he says. "And again, Wacker just seemed like a logical choice."

And logic with a little peace of mind can go a long way.
Not only can you receive a 2-year degree in only 16-months, Wacker's 95-percent placement rate of current students is encouraging.

One specialist tells Eyewitness News, students know there's a job opportunity before graduation.
