
STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Shekinna Stricklen had 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead No. 13 Tennessee to a 57-41 victory over Mississippi State on Thursday night.
Cierra Burdick added 10 points and Glory Johnson grabbed 15 rebounds for the Lady Vols (19-7, 10-3 Southeastern Conference), who overcame 19 turnovers and 38.7 percent shooting (24 of 62).
Tennessee improved to 33-0 all-time against the Lady Bulldogs and pulled into a tie with Kentucky atop the SEC standings. The Wildcats were upset by Alabama 69-67 on Thursday night.
Kendra Grant scored 17 points and Porsha Porter added 15 for Mississippi State (14-12, 4-9). The Lady Bulldogs struggled through 24.2 percent (16 of 66) shooting and trailed by double digits the entire second half.
Both teams combined to go 1 of 21 from the floor at the start before Tennessee took control for a 22-13 lead at the half.
