(WRCB) - All southbound lanes are now opened after a tractor trailer accident on Interstate 75 southbound caused some early morning traffic problems.
Georgia State Patrol says the driver reports hitting a bump in the roadway, then striking a guard rail. As the driver was pulling back onto the roadway the second trailer overturned losing its cargo.
It was hauling medical sterilization formula containing diluted formaldehyde. GSP says there was no hazard from the solution.
The accident happened just before 4:00 a.m. and the interstate was finally reopened around 8:30 a.m.
People heading toward Atlanta were asked to use Highway 41 as an alternate route.
