CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Chattanooga firefighters are trying to figure out what caused the fire at a Jersey Pike plant that forced an evacuation.

A dispatcher tells Channel 3, fire crews were called to the 3000 block around 7:30 Wednesday night for a reported fire at Wrigley Manufacturing.

Chattanooga Fire Spokesman Bruce Garner says the small fire broke out in some machinery and was already out when crews arrived.

Garner says the plant was evacuated as a precaution.

He says one employee was taken to Parkridge Medical Center for observation after complaining of breathing difficulties.

Fire crews ventilated the building with high-powered fans.

Garner says there was minimal damage to the plant, and investigators are working to determine a cause.
