Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Steadman Ford hit a 3-pointer with 1.8 seconds to play to keep Notre Dame's season alive with a 41-38 win over visiting Chattanooga Christian in the opening round of the District 7-AA Tournament on Monday night.

Ford's shot assures the Fighting Irish of at least two more games after clinching a spot in next week's regional tournament as a top-four finisher in the district. Notre Dame will play at 7-AA's top seed, Sequatchie County, on Thursday night in the district tournament semis.

The Chargers rallied from nine points down in the game's final five minutes to pull even at 38-38 on Drew Thomas' three-pointer with nine seconds left. Notre Dame had a timeout remaining, but chose not to use it before Ford's game-winner.

Kywaun Davenport led the Irish with 10 points, while Shelden Brogden, Clay Heltzel and Ford each had with nine.

Clark Marshall finished with 16 points to lead the Chargers, who end the season with a 14-14 overall mark.
