Toddler found with burns in Fairview Rd. meth lab

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) – A Chattanooga mother faces drug and abuse charges after police find her toddler in a meth lab.

Police Spokesman Nathan Hartwig tells Channel 3, a 2-year-old was found in a home on Fairview Road Monday afternoon suffering from second degree burns on his chest.

Hartwig says eight one-pot meth labs were also found.

The boy was taken to T.C. Thompson for treatment, and to determine the exact cause of the burns.

His mother, 31-year-old Elizabeth Cushwa, is charged with initiating manufacture of methamphetamine, aggravated child abuse, and three counts of reckless endangerment.

The boy's brothers, ages 4 and 7, were also taken to the hospital.

Hartwig says they did not appear to be injured.
