
CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Simone Busby scored 17 points and Chadarryl Clay and Jeneh Perry added 15 apiece to lead No. 2 GPS to an easy 70-44 victory over visiting East Hamilton on Thursday night.
After opening a 23-18 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Bruisers went cold in the second. GPS made just three shots from the field over the next eight minutes, yet still held a 31-28 lead at the break.
The Bruisers found their groove again in the second half, exploding for 49 points in the final two quarters. GPS used a 15-0 run midway through the third quarter push the lead to double figures, and wound up outscoring the Hurricanes 22-4 in the period to blow the game open.
Brynn Moon led East Hamilton with 17, but 15 of them came in the first half.
