EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (WRCB) -- The stage is set for the surprising East Ridge Pioneers.
Jon Goddard's team extended its winning streak to seven games and set up a first-place showdown with District 6-AA leader Tyner with a 68-65 victory over East Hamilton on Thursday night.
Greg Besley led four Pioneers in double figures with 17 points. Chris Green finished with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Alfonzo Cox and Eric Taylor added 13 points apiece.
Cody Knox led the Hurricanes with 21.
East Ridge (14-5) lost its first two games, but is 14-3 since. The Pioneers are now off the next eight days before a rematch with Tyner, who handed East Ridge its only district loss this season. The first-place Rams are still unbeaten in 6-AA play.
