
Vols' Poole, Jackson reportedly invited to NFL Combine
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WRCB) -- A pair of University of Tennessee football players will reportedly show off their skills at the annual NFL Combine in February in Indianapolis.
Running back Tauren Poole and defensive lineman Malik Jackson were on a list of invited players obtained by CBS Sports.
The list of invitees for the draft showcase, which currently stands at 231, will expand next week after the deadline passes for underclassmen to declare for the draft.
Poole will also get a chance to play in front of pro scouts in the East-West Shrine Game in St. Petersburg, Fla., this Saturday (4 p.m. ET on NFL Network).
Seven Georgia players invited to NFL Combine
ATHENS, Ga. (WRCB) -- Seven University of Georgia football players will get a chance to impress pro scouts at the annual NFL Combine in February.
Defensive back Brandon Boykin, offensive linemen Cordy Glenn and Justin Anderson, center Ben Jones, defensive lineman DeAngelo Tyson, punter Drew Butler and kicker Blair Walsh will go through drills in Indianapolis February 22-28.
Boykin, who won the Paul Hornung Award as the nation's most versatile player, will also join Jones, Butler and Glenn in the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., on January 28.
Seven Georgia football players have been invited to play in post-season all-star games while seven have also received invitations to the annual NFL Combine.
Walsh, Tyson, and fullback Bruce Figgins will play in the East-West Shrine Game this Saturday in St. Petersburg, Fla.
