How's that resolution going? Still hitting the gym? Taking those exercise classes? Are you among the millions of people who have resolved to lose weight and get healthy? Hang in there, don't give up.

Doctor James Marcum, a cardiologist was our guest this morning. He focuses on obesity and heart disease.

Dr. Marcum says resolutions are easy to make and hard to keep. Four out of five or 80% give up, a lot of those by the end of January.

He also went over some strategies in making New Year's resolutions.

1. Pick one health improvement area and stick with it.

2. Be Reasonable in setting resolutions.

3. Educate yourself on health care.

4. Work with your provider in setting a resolution.

5. Make it about relationships.

Dr. Marcum has a new book out that is one of the top 40 health books in the country.
