Winter Weather Advisory issued for the mountains of east TN and western NC 7 a.m. ET Tuesday.
***This advisory does not include the Channel 3 viewing area. It affects the mountains to the northeast.***
Up to 4" of snow possible at 2500 feet and above through early Tuesday. This will be accompanied by sub-zero degree wind chills and blowing snow due to wind gusts of 30 mph or higher.
Please drive safely and dress appropriately if you plan to travel to these areas.

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Winter Weather Advisory issued for the mountains of east TN and western NC, effective 4pm Monday-Noon Tuesday.
A trough of low pressure will dig into the mountains of east Tennessee and western North Carolina as the coldest air mass of the season settles into the region. Snow showers are expected to develop Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning along with gusty winds.
Accumulations of 2-4" possible above 2500 feet along with sub-zero wind chills Monday night in the highest elevations. Dress appropriately and prepare for blowing snow and low visibilities if your travel plans will take to these areas.
