INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Peyton Manning will not participate in the Colts' team practices the rest of the season.

Coach Jim Caldwell said Tuesday that Manning is getting better and will continue his rehabilitation work, which includes throwing the ball.

However, Caldwell said Manning does not want to take repetitions away from Dan Orlovsky or Curtis Painter as the Colts (1-13) wrap up the year.

Caldwell watched Manning throw last week with Anthony Gonzalez, Joseph Addai and an undisclosed receiver from the practice squad.

He would not say whether Manning had the usual velocity on his throws following his Sept. 8 neck surgery.
