SODDY-DAISY, HAMILTON COUNTY (WRCB)-- Update: Rescue crews pulled a man out of the Cumberland Trail on Mowbray Mountain, who just couldn't make it back out.

The 86-year-old man went for a hike with two family members.

But while ending their hike late Saturday afternoon, he was unable to finish.

His companions called 911.

Mowbray Volunteer Fire Department and Special Tactics Rescue Services (STARS) responded...

About four hours later, they were able to pull him out to safety.

The man was checked out on the scene. He was uninjured.

SODDY-DAISY, HAMILTON COUNTY (WRCB)-- The search for three elderly hikers has ended after rescue crews find them safe and sound.

A Hamilton County dispatcher says three elderly people were hiking off Indian Ridge Road when they stopped for a break Saturday afternoon.

He says the hikers were forced to call for help because they were too tired to make it back on their own.

Search crews eventually found the trio, but the dispatcher says the terrain is making it difficult to reach them.

Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.

Channel 3 has a crew en route.
