
CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- Trey Suttles scored 16 points and Tyner used a late third-quarter run to take control and eventually hold on for a 58-55 road win at rival Howard in District 6-AA play Friday night.
The Rams (6-0) stay unbeaten with the win, and improve to 4-0 in district play.
With the game tied at 29 at halftime, Howard (2-2, 1-1) came out strong in the third quarter and took a 37-31 lead when Anthony Smith finished off an athletic drive at the five-minute mark. From there the Rams took over, ripping off a 10-0 run to end the quarter.
Lorenzo McCauley's 3-pointer with 2:25 to play pulled the Hustlin' Tigers back within two at 52-50, but they never got any closer. Smith, who led the Hustlin' Tigers with 16 points, missed a deep, off-balance 3-pointer with five seconds left on the clock to seal Howard's loss.
