LAWRENCE, Kansas (WRCB) -- Phillip Fulmer interviewed for the University of Kansas head coaching job two years ago, but didn't receive an offer.
He reportedly would like another shot.
The Lawrence Journal-World is reporting the former University of Tennessee head coach is interested in the Jayhawks' opening. Kansas fired Turner Gill, the coach they hired over Fulmer, nine days ago after just two seasons.
Fulmer, 61, holds a 152-52-1 career record with one national championship, but he hasn't coached since being fired by Tennessee following the 2008 season.
