COLLEGEDALE, HAMILTON COUNTY -

(WRCB) -  The City of Collegedale has released the results of an investigation into a police officer caught allegedly having sex in a vehicle.

According to Collegedale City Manager Ted Rogers, Corporal Matt Spears was in a vehicle with his wife.

Rogers says Spears was off-duty, but still in his uniform with his patrol car parked next to an SUV.

The city manager says the internal affairs investigation determined that there was a "display of affection between the two, but no nudity was involved or anything other than kissing that would have been visible to anyone around."

"Corporal Spears should have used better judgment in this situation," Rogers says in a written release. "Administration has had a frank discussion about this and how it should have been handled better."

Chattanooga Police officers reported finding Spears and a woman having sex in the back of an SUV in the parking lot of the Samaritan Center.
