Attempted burglary arrest leads Police to solve another burglary

EAST RIDGE, HAMILTON COUNTY, TN (WRCB) – East Ridge Police have arrested a man for an attempted burglary and find items stolen in a different burglary.  

Police responded to a burglar alarm, Friday night, on Frawley Road.

When police arrived on the scene they found that an unsuccessful attempt had been made to pry open the back door. Witnesses told police that a Ford Ranger truck was seen leaving the scene.

Officers searching the area observed a Ford Ranger truck driving in the area of Camp Jordan.

Police stopped the truck and lying in the bed of the truck was Cory Harvey, a 24 year old.

Officers also found a backpack containing bolt cutters, screwdrivers, a mask, and a two way radio. Also inside the bag was found loose jewelry and latex gloves.

Harvey was transported to the Hamilton County Jail where he was charged with Attempted Burglary and Possession of Burglary Tools. Mr. Harvey was booked and release on $10,000 bond.

Investigators identified one of the pieces of jewelry found Harvey's backpack as a stolen item from a burglary at 409 Cedar Glen Circle. which was reported on November 13th

Harvey now faces additional charges of Aggravated Burglary, Theft over $1000, and Vandalism.
