CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Chattanooga Police are investigating a shooting that happened Tuesday night.
Police say Alexander Morales was near the Carniceria Loa on Broad Street. He had just taken out some trash and was going back into the business when two men approached him.
One of the suspects hit Morales in the face with a gun, knocking him to the ground. When he tried to get up, the suspect shot him in the hand. Morales made it into the building and called police. The suspects took off.
The shooter was wearing blue jeans, and dark colored sweatshirt and a mask over his face. There is not a description for the second suspect.
The reason for the assault is unknown but it's believed this may have been a robbery attempt.
